Yesterday while I was driving, I heard a song I wasn’t familiar with. The lyrics that caught my attention were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take me back<\/p>

To the place that feels like home<\/p>

To the people I can depend on<\/p>

To the faith that’s in my bones<\/p>

Take me back<\/p>

To a preacher and a verse<\/p>

Where they’ve seen me at my worst<\/p>

To the love I had at first<\/p>

Oh, I want to go to church<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I found out latter that this song is called Church by Cochren and Co<\/a>. It’s a moving song about looking for answers in the wrong places and becoming more broken each time. What struck me was the idea of church being home. I have never felt that way before. To be honest, I have had houses before but the last time I felt home was in college. Only now, after nearly 20 years living in this house is it starting to feel like home. The reason isn’t the four walls but those who we get to share our lives with. Many of them are the church. They share their beliefs in Christ and believe that we should love God and love people. I have many friends who are part of my home who aren’t Christians and still believe do into others as you’d have them do to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church can be home. It’s a group of people with shared beliefs who do life together. I hope as I continue my #faithjourney, my sense of home grows with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
