Last night, Chadwick Boseman passed away from cancer. He was fighting for four years, like my dad, and no one new it. His death made international news as he was a celebrity and made wonderful movies. Rest in peace, Me. Boseman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see over and over that celebrities get parades, news coverage, and international mourning when they die, but “normal” people don’t. I’ve even seen this applied to tragedies when people are murdered or killed and they don’t make headlines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We too often equate news coverage with importance. Celebrityhood with value. This isn’t the case. Yes,they receive coverage because they are known by millions or in some cases are used as part of a cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we die, get hurt, or do something great, we have the same coverage by those who love us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is stupidly in love with you. You are so important that he gave his only Son for you. He listens to you, answers you, and loves you. The ticket tape parade isn’t needed when we have this incomprehensible love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
