I can be like a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2020\/06\/27\/june-27-a-dog-with-a-bone\/\" target=\"_blank\">dog with a bone sometimes.<\/a> It&#8217;s not that I try to be but I am this way. We all hold our opinions very strongly and it&#8217;s hard to change them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admitting you were wrong is hard for most, especially when it comes down to your beliefs. I am wrong every day, multiple times a day. I apologize and ask for forgiveness. When you have such strongly held beliefs it&#8217;s hard to see how someone in their right mind can&#8217;t see how 2 + 2 = 4. The thing is the other person, see you saying 2 + 2 = 5. The message is lost in translation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have an opportunity to change everyday. Jesus forgives us for thinking and acting wrongly. We just have to ask for it. We have to take that first step to realize we were wrong and that we want to change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.12.2\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 12:2<\/a> &#8211; Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Just one verse tonight. In Romans, we see that while we live in this world, we shouldn&#8217;t be of this world. We need to focus on heavenly things. Everyday is a chance for us to renew our minds to see how God wants us to act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also says we should discern what is good, acceptable, and perfect. I&#8217;m far from searching for perfection, I just want to be on the right path. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My desire to be right at all costs can lead me astray. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2020\/06\/17\/june-17-when-being-right-is-wrong\/\" target=\"_blank\">Being right can be wrong.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let us leave tonight with hearts that are open to Jesus, open to each other, and willing to learn from each other&#8217;s experiences. Let us be willing to admit we were wrong and change our mind as we are provided with more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the words of Alanis Morrisette, I&#8217;m wrong and I&#8217;m sorry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you willing to see it from someone else&#8217;s point of view. Are you able to change your mind? Try to be open to the possibility to truly hear what someone is saying and be waking to make slight changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, forgive us for our stubbornness. Often in our efforts to prove we are right, we ruin relationships and try to force people to see it our way. It often gets personal quickly. Help us to be open. To changing our minds. Please move our hearts to be open to different perspectives and provide us discernment to know how you want us to think, live, and act.
