Yesterday, we talked about how people may be sick or in pain but “look ok<\/a>“. We also discussed how like sickness and pain, we are all commit sins that aren’t visible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of that invisibility is the nature of pain, sickness, and sin. It’s below the skin and you can’t see what’s going on. The other part, and a part that I am guilty of, is pretending to be ok. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am in severe pain right now but just went through two team meetings and a phone call with a friend without mentioning it. I was squirming in my seat and laying on the bed to stop the pain but wouldn’t say anything. My mind was more on the pain than the topics we were discussing. I was pretending to be ok to avoid sympathy or sounding like a whiner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we pretend, we hide away part of who we are. It can stop people from forming relationships with us and it’s exhausting. Pretending doesn’t help anyone. God knows all about us and our pain, why pretend?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
