It&#8217;s a day for fewer chores, more fun, and sometimes eating out. We take time to celebrate the work of the week and reward ourselves. Today, my best friend came up with Cry-Day. Meaning we can make a choice, it is going to be a celebration day (Fri-Yay) or are we going to have a bad attitude and make bad choices (Cry-Day). At least for today, the kids have opted for a Fri-Yay.<\/p>\n<p>In life, it&#8217;s not such a binary choice. Our yays are intermixed with our crys. We can<a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2020\/05\/07\/may-7-i-want-to-be-happy\/\"> choose to be happy<\/a> and realize that there may be sadness. It is still our choice if the day is going to more Yay and less Cry.\u00a0 When we make that choice, we don&#8217;t do it in a vacuum. Jesus is there to support us, love us, and forgive. If we are having more of a Cry-Day because of our choices, it&#8217;s never too late to turn it around.<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.15.13\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 15:13<\/a> &#8211; I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/ecc.9.7\" class=\"verseLink\">Ecclesiastes 9:7<\/a> &#8211; So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.30.5\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 30:5<\/a> &#8211; <span id=\"en-NLT-14301\" class=\"text Ps-30-5\">For his anger lasts only a moment,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-30-5\">but his favor lasts a lifetime!<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-30-5\">Weeping may last through the night,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-30-5\">but joy comes with the morning.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>Jesus is our rock, our redeemer, and our savior. He fills us with joy, love, and peace because we trust in him. He has defeated the grave for us so we can choose to be happy, and <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2020\/06\/25\/june-25-let-them-eat-cake\/\">celebrate<\/a>. This is something to be excited about.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.30.5\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 30:5<\/a> we see that it won&#8217;t all be sunshine, puppy dogs, and unicorns. We will have our Cry-Days, but our weeping and &#8220;punishment&#8221; will be fleeting while his love and favor last a lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>Have you made today a Fri-Yay? If not, and it&#8217;s because of your actions. Apologize. Then turn it into a Fri-Yay. If it&#8217;s a Cry-day, look at why that is and pray to the Lord for help in turning it around.<\/p>\n<p>You can celebrate every day.<\/p>\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n<p>How are you choosing to live today? Are you making choices to be happy, or are you being grumpy? If you are being grumpy, why? Is there a way to resolve it so you can be happy? Take a moment to look at the choices you are making and see how you can turn crys into yays.<\/p>\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n<p>Father God, thank you for celebrations. Thank you for letting us feel the whole expanse of human emotions. We know that there will be good days and bad days. Let us come together to divide the bad and multiple celebrations you give us. Provide us direction and light our path when the crys seem to outweigh the yays. We want to dance, sing, and celebrate the work we have done through you.
