A day to recognize our Fathers both on earth and our Heavenly Father. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not necessary a day for flowers and candy. BBQ and beer. It&#8217;s a day for love, remembrance, and thankfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I remember my father and miss him. He was far from a perfect man, but he was my dad and I miss him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God tells us how to be a good father and how as children we are supposed to act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/pro.13.24\" class=\"verseLink\">Proverbs 13:24<\/a> &#8211; Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them<\/em><\/li><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jas.1.17\" class=\"verseLink\">James 1:17<\/a> &#8211; Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.<\/em><\/li><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.103.13\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 103:13<\/a> &#8211; As a father shows compassion to his children, so the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;shows compassion to those who fear him<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We are told to discipline our children and raise them up right. Likewise our God gives us laws, rules, and tries to raise us up right. He gives us all gifts.on heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a choice, actually two in this realm. One is how we listen to our father and the other is how we raise our children. The funny thing is right now my youngest is fighting with me, yelling, and telling me I&#8217;m rude. I&#8217;m trying to parent in the way God would want, but it&#8217;s not easy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close the door on Father&#8217;s Day 2020, remember that we have choices on how we treat our heavenly father, our earthly father, and how we raise our children. Let&#8217;s choose wisely<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you father today. Thank your heavenly father and your earthly father. If you earthly father is with our heavenly father, take a moment to thank him for what you&#8217;ve learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father, thank you for everything you&#8217;ve done for me. Thank you for my earthly father and all of the father figures you have put in my life. Help us to cherish them. For those of us who are fathers, help us to be a role model and raise them up like you would want us to.
