On my patio below, my pool was gushing water. I said the pool&#8217;s broken and ran outside to fix it. My dog came down with me and started frolicking and splashing in the water. I found that the pool was just over filled and it was fine. Just had to fill some back up.<\/p>\n<p>My dog saw it as a change to play and have fun in the sun. I saw it as a major worry about cleanup, cost, and summer enjoyment. In the end, he was right, and I was stressed for nothing.<\/p>\n<p>When you see the world,how do you see it? Is it the jump for fun or jump for anxiety and fear? It could be somewhere in the middle. Know that you are loved and God already knows how it will play out.<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mrk.2.8\" class=\"verseLink\">Mark 2:8<\/a> &#8211; And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, \u201cWhy do you question these things in your hearts?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/pro.1.2-7\" class=\"verseLink\">Proverbs 1:2-7<\/a> &#8211; Their<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-2\" id=\"en-NLT-16379\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,<\/em><\/span><em> to<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-2\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> help them understand the insights of the wise.<\/em><\/span><\/span><em> Their<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-3\" id=\"en-NLT-16380\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,<\/em><\/span><em> to<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-3\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> help them do what is right, just, and fair.<\/em><\/span><\/span><em> These<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-4\" id=\"en-NLT-16381\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> proverbs will give insight to the simple,<\/em><\/span><em> knowledge<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-4\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> and discernment to the young.<\/em><\/span><\/span><em> Let<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-5\" id=\"en-NLT-16382\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.<\/em><\/span><em> Let<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-5\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> those with understanding receive guidance<\/em><\/span><\/span><em> by<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-6\" id=\"en-NLT-16383\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables,<\/em><\/span><em> the<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-6\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> words of the wise and their riddles.<\/em><\/span><\/span><em> Fear<\/em><span class=\"text Prov-1-7\" id=\"en-NLT-16384\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> of the<\/em><span><em> <\/em><\/span><span class=\"small-caps\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; font-variant:small-caps;\"><em>Lord<\/em><\/span><span><em> <\/em><\/span><em>is the foundation of true knowledge,<\/em><\/span><em> but<\/em><span class=\"indent-1\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"><span class=\"text Prov-1-7\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; position:relative;\"><em> fools despise wisdom and discipline.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>We all see things differently. Our perceptions are formed by our history and experiences. If one has seen a lot of trauma and discord, they may perceive an event with that lense. If someone has mostly good experiences, they will see what is happening that way.<\/p>\n<p>Even the Apostles, questioned and had different perceptions. Jesus questioned them on why they believe certain things and what feelings they have in their heart. The introduction to the book of Proverbs, explains their purpose is to provide insight and clarify.<\/p>\n<p>One perspective isn&#8217;t necessarily better than another. All can be valuable. The key is understanding why we see something the way we do.<\/p>\n<p>For me, when I saw that waterfall escaping my pool, I thought the worst. The reason, is I&#8217;ve had a lot of things go wrong this weekend. My dog on the other hand, has had a great life and was looking to play. In this case, he had a better perspective as it wasn&#8217;t broken. It helps me realize that I need to make sure I know why I&#8217;m seeing something one way versus another. How about you?<\/p>\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n<p>Take five minutes in the next day or so to ask yourself why you saw something one way. Dig deep. Look into your background. It may provide insight and help you be more clear about your next perception.<\/p>\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n<p>Lord Jesus, our perception is often clouded by our experiences in this world. Where you see beauty, we can see destruction and negativity. Help us to see the world through your eyes. Allow us to help one another get past the clouds and see the glory. This isn&#8217;t an easy task but we know through your guidance, we will prevail. Thank you Jesus.
