We are learn in different ways. Some by doing, some by seeing, some by reading, and some in a combination of modes. Today, I led a training for faculty and staff about problem based learning. This is a self-directed learning style where you work in a group to determine what you know and what you need to learn from bits of information provided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This type of learning is hard as it’s not a teacher giving you information. You have to seek it out and apply it. It’s a more active time intensive learning style but produces better results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about how you learn about your faith. Is it just listening to a preacher and asborbing? Do you seek out answers to your questions? Do you apply it to your daily activities?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we truly want to be disciples of Christ, we need to go beyond the passive absorption of scripture and become active learners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
