I started thinking about the structure of our daily #faithbites : title, tags, intro, scripture, reflection, challenge, and prayer. Then, my mind went to thinking of the structure of I did a podcast. Would it change? Do people like the structure we have?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few hours later, I saw my kids still in their PJs, watching TV, and groaning about getting dressed and doing online homework. When my youngest got dressed, she felt better. They need to have structure to their day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we look at our faith practices, we need structure just as we so in any other part of our life. What does your pattern or structure look like?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/luk.4.16\" class=\"verseLink\">Luke 4:16<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>Pray without ceasing &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/1th.5.17\" class=\"verseLink\">1 Thessalonians 5:17<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/luk.18.1\" class=\"verseLink\">Luke 18:1<\/a><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Structure or daily routine is important. My children even though they fight against the daily grind, they are lost when it is gone. In our passages, we see where praying is a custom, to always pray, and to pray without ceasing. These are all examples of routine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happens when our structures are rocked, like they are now? We can gather in person for worship. We can physically give the Lord&#8217;s peace to each other. Heck, even our morning routines of prayer, can be messed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have to find a new structure or routine. It&#8217;s up to us to find a new way. It&#8217;s not better or worse than the old way, just new. Look to God for helping in creating this new practice. Maybe it&#8217;s going to an online service or attending a small group online. It may just be you carving out the same 10-20 minutes every day for your time with the Lord. Whatever it is, you will be rewarded by having some structure and normalcy in your day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>What are you going to do right now to provide structure in your day? Help us to make time for you and use that time as a cornerstone for our daily structure. We need your presence as a guiding light in our day. Be with us as we learn what the new normal is. Thank you for everything you do for us.
