We tend to share things like food, money, germs (sorry, flu season around here), tasks, and feelings. While these are important, they often only scratch the surface of what we really should be sharing: God&#8217;s Word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, I shared with a friend a copy of our 47 day Lenten reading plan. I didn&#8217;t know if she would like it, but she said ti was good as she needs to get back more into the Word. Our spirit needs as much care, if not more, than our body. Knowing Jesus loves you is one thing, spending time in the Word, is something different. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will you share a verse? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>\u00a0But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/1pe.3.15\" class=\"verseLink\">1 Peter 3:15<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>So Christ himself gave\u00a0the apostles,\u00a0the prophets,\u00a0the evangelists,\u00a0the pastors and teachers,\u00a0to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ\u00a0may be built up\u00a0until we all reach unity\u00a0in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God\u00a0and become mature,\u00a0attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/eph.11\" class=\"verseLink\">Ephesians 11-12<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>He said to them, \u201cGo into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mrk.16.15\" class=\"verseLink\">Mark 16:15<\/a><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of us understand the Great Commission, <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.28.16-20,\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 28:16-20,<\/a> which states for us to go and make disciples of all the nations&#8230;What does it mean to disciple? The first part of that is to help people know Christ. The easiest way to do that is share your story in gentleness and respect. When our words don&#8217;t work, we have His Words: The Bible. By sharing the Bible, we help others find Christ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crux of this is why? Is it just to feel good? No. Will you feel good when you know you aren&#8217;t alone? Yes. Having the <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2019\/12\/12\/dec-13-a-hug-is-powerful\/\">loving arms of God<\/a> around you is the best hug and warmth you can have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry about how it may be taken. Just share your words and His Words. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Find a person who you can impact. Share one verse with them. It doesn&#8217;t have to be a big deal. Just say something like, I was thinking about you and this is a verse I like. I hope you like it too. Very simple. This is a low invitation, low challenge. This can open up a whole new relationship for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, thank you for your words. Your words can heal a broken heart, provide warmth when we are cold, and help us find home when we are lost. Give us the strength to be open in faith and share your word with others. In this culture it can be scary. Help us take a small step that may greatly change someone&#8217;s life.
