What do you hear? If you are like me, probably the TV, the fan, kids talking, the heater going, toys being played with, and of course &#8220;Daddy, Daddy, Daddy&#8221;, nonstop. If you are lucky, maybe you hear silence. I&#8217;m craving that right now and hiding a bit in my room in hopes of getting some. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanting silence or your own time isn&#8217;t bad. You aren&#8217;t running away from something. In fact, you are fueling up for the next mission. Just like a car without gas, if you don&#8217;t let your mind rest, you can&#8217;t go. Unlike a car without gas, our minds will keep going making poorer and poorer choices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where do you go for silence?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>He says, \u201cBe still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.46.10\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 46:10<\/a><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Only one verse today, Sol? You getting lazy? Actually, this one sums it all up, nicely. First, we need to be still. That means to do nothing or in other words rest. We don&#8217;t have to tackle the world today. Second, God is God. He is in control, he is the one who will make everything happen. He will provide rest as comfort. Lastly, it doesn&#8217;t matter what you do, as if you are in God, everything will be exalted. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, and I&#8217;ll give you one more verse, Jesus wants us to come to him for silence and rest. He says, \u201cCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.11.28\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 11:28<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enjoy the silence and rest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Turn off the phone, have the kids go to their room, stop doing whatever is making noise in your head, and enjoy the silence. I will be doing his challenge, as soon as I post this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, your people are tired of the noise. Give them your silence, peace, and restore their strength. We know that you have great things in mind for us. To do that, we need to be rested. Help us to turn off the noise and enjoy your peace.
