Sometimes, work is just hard. It&#8217;s not perfect and never will be perfect. We can strive for perfection in everything we do, but at what cost? I can&#8217;t sing and could strive for a perfect song, which would probably take me a life time, I wouldn&#8217;t enjoy it, and would it be worth while? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m not saying to turn in a poor performance, but know what is good enough.  When we speak about our faith, we don&#8217;t need perfect words. Just good enough. If we are doing a service project for others, perfection isn&#8217;t needed, just good work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Striving to be Christ-like is great, striving to be perfect like Jesus won&#8217;t happen. We will fall and fail, and that&#8217;s ok. He forgives us, and we try again.  We are good enough for Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/2ti.2.7\" class=\"verseLink\">2 Timothy 2:7<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.  &#8211; 2 Corinthians 10:!2<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We measure how good we are against other&#8217;s performances. This is in everything we do from hobbies to being a friend to work to even &#8220;how spiritual we are.&#8221; The problem with this is there is no perfect outside of Christ. When we compare ourselves to others, we lose understanding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m currently working on a wooden music box. I know it won&#8217;t be perfect. Parts will be slightly off centered and it won&#8217;t win an award. It will be an accomplishment and be ok. My faith is unlike anyone else&#8217;s faith. I may not be doing it like someone else, or good enough to be like them, but it is good enough for Christ. I follow his word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are troubled about doing &#8220;good enough&#8221; remember, that those who compare are without understanding. Those who seek the Lord, gain his understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you measure up? Are you good enough? The answer is yes. You are unique and do things differently. Follow the Lord and he will reveal everything to you. It doesn&#8217;t have to be perfect. When you are sincere, he knows it and will bless it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord, help us not try to keep up with the Jones&#8217;s. Help us be satisfied that what we are doing is good enough. That you love us. Our works may not be perfect or &#8220;as good&#8221; as someone else does, but it is enough.
