(Ok purists, the decade doesn&#8217;t end until the end of 2020, but get over it :-).  Many are reflecting, making lists, and looking towards a new beginning in 2020. From my heart to yours, I wish you blessings, peace, and prosperity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With so many resolutions and song countdowns going on, the one song that is sticking in my head is Meatloaf&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9X_ViIPA-Gc\">I Would Do Anything For Love (But I won&#8217;t do that).<\/a>  What would you do for love? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SR6iYWJxHqs\">As Bruno Mars says<\/a> &#8220;I&#8217;d catch a grenade for you, throw my head on a blade for you, I&#8217;d jump in front of a train for you, I&#8217;d do anything for ya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything God has done for us has been in love. He even did some things and vowed to never do them again. God would do anything for us and he did do that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em> I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/gen.9.11\" class=\"verseLink\">Genesis 9:11<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em> All those the Father gives me\u00a0will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.\u00a0For I have come down from heaven\u00a0not to do my will but to do the will\u00a0of him who sent me.\u00a0And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me,\u00a0but raise them up at the last day.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.6.37-39\" class=\"verseLink\">John 6:37-39<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><em>For God so loved\u00a0the world that he gave\u00a0his one and only Son,\u00a0that whoever believes\u00a0in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.3.16\" class=\"verseLink\">John 3:16<\/a><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>When we sinned, God tried tough love by kicking Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/gen.3.23\" class=\"verseLink\">Genesis 3:23<\/a>). He was so distraught by what we did, he flooded the earth (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/gen.6.6-8\" class=\"verseLink\">Genesis 6:6-8<\/a>). But then Noah found favor in Him. (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/gen.6.9\" class=\"verseLink\">Genesis 6:9<\/a>).  The Lord realized that tough love wouldn&#8217;t work. He vowed to never flood the Earth again.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But as humans, we still sinned. He tried through prophets and teachings, but we sinned. Then he did something for love, that most of us wouldn&#8217;t do. He, in the form of Jesus, came to Earth, taught us, and died for us.  He gave Jesus instructions not to lose any of those he gave him, but raise them up. God made a new covenant with us. <strong>He proved that once he would do anything for love, and he did do that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we begin 2020, what will we do for love of Christ? Are we willing to truly love our neighbors and God. Can we give up the hatred, fear, and animosity towards others? We may slip, but through Christ&#8217;s forgiveness, we can keep on trying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happy New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Find one way to show that you will do anything for love. Will you set a daily prayer time or devotional? Will to friend someone who needs it? Maybe you will choose to sacrifice something so others are helped. The choice is up to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord, thank you for allowing us to reach a new year. For some of us, 2019 was horrible, others it was great. No matter how the year went, be with us, help us to grow, heal, and serve you. You have showed us that you would do anything for love and we are in awe of you. Thank you for that steadfast, enduring love.
