Todays Bible Lesson is one of transition. At church today, our senior pastor said he was retiring next year and we need to look at transition. In my life, I’ve transitioned from one career path to another. I’ve transitioned from being a non-practicing Jew to an involved Christian. I’ve experienced people transitioning from this world to the next. (And no, it never gets easier).
\nTransitioning is difficult. It brings stress. It makes us feel as if our days are numbered and we will never recover.

\n“For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now\u2014and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” – Matthew 24:21-22<\/a><\/p>\n

“You see me when I travel
\nand when I rest at home.
\nYou know everything I do.
\nYou know what I am going to say
\neven before I say it, Lord.
\nYou go before me and follow me.
\nYou place your hand of blessing on my head.
\nSuch knowledge is too wonderful for me,
\ntoo great for me to understand!” – Psalm 139:3-6<\/a>

Jesus has cut those days short. He is with us. He will put his hand upon our head and lead us forward, forever, protected through all of our transitions.<\/p>\n
