Pretty simple stuff. I went to the store, took a long time looking at the seats, and bought one. Then, I came home, started to install it and realized I got the wrong one. I needed a round one but got the elongated. (But the round ones aren&#8217;t round, oh well) Ok, I was a bit ticked but whatever. So back to the store, exchanged the seat, came home, installed it, and realized I got the wrong color. It was bone instead of beige. Again, I was ticked.<\/p>\n<p>Why couldn&#8217;t I get something as simple as installing a toliet seat right?<\/p>\n<p>We have all had toliet seat moments. When we get down on ourselves, upset, and think something is wrong with us. The truth is, we are gifted at many things but not all. Do you let these moments define you?<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li> Saul&#8217;s Defining Moment: <span style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0); font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:16px; font-style:normal; font-variant-ligatures:normal; font-variant-caps:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; orphans:2text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; white-space:normal; widows:2; word-spacing:0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width:0px; background-color:rgb(255,255,255); text-decoration-style:initial; text-decoration-color:initial; display:inline!important; float:none; text-align:left;\">As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.&#8221;<\/span> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/act.9.3\" class=\"verseLink\">Acts 9:3<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Moses&#8217;s Defining Moment: There<span class=\"text Exod-3-2\" id=\"en-NIV-1582\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"> the angel of the<span> <\/span><span class=\"small-caps\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; font-variant:small-caps;\">Lord<\/span><span> <\/span>appeared to him in flames of fire<span> <\/span>from within a bush.<span> <\/span>Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.<\/span> So<span class=\"text Exod-3-3\" id=\"en-NIV-1583\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\"> Moses thought, \u201cI will go over and see this strange sight\u2014why the bush does not burn up.\u201d<\/span><span class=\"text Exod-3-4\" id=\"en-NIV-1584\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\">When the<span> <\/span><span class=\"small-caps\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased; font-variant:small-caps;\">Lord<\/span><span> <\/span>saw that he had gone over to look, God called<span> <\/span>to him from within the bush,\u201cMoses! Moses!\u201d<\/span><span class=\"text Exod-3-4\" style=\"-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;\">And Moses said, \u201cHere I am.\u201d<\/span> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/exo.3.2-6\" class=\"verseLink\">Exodus 3:2-6<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Peter&#8217;s Defining Moment : <span style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0); font-family:\" helveticaneueverdanahelveticaarialsans-serif=\"helveticaneueverdanahelveticaarialsans-serif\" _16px=\"font-size:_16px\" normal=\"white-space:normal\" _400=\"font-weight:_400\" _2text-indent0px=\"orphans:_2text-indent0px\" none=\"float:none\" _2=\"widows:_2\" _0px=\"_-webkit-text-stroke-width:_0px\" initial=\"text-decoration-color:initial\" inlineimportant=\"display:inlineimportant\" left=\"text-align:left\">Lord, if it\u2019s you,\u201d Peter replied, \u201ctell me to come to you on the water.\u201d<\/span> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.14.28\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 14:28<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>Saul, Moses, and Peter had defining moments that solidified their faith. From being blinded on the road to Damascus, to the burning bush, to walking on water. These were life altering events of faith.<\/p>\n<p>While we all have encounters with Christ, we must not let the temptations or failures of the world define us.<\/p>\n<p>God gave us all different skills and abilities. Sure, I stink at home improvement and should let a minor thing like a toliet seat define my worth.<\/p>\n<p>Our worth is priceless through God. We need to realize this and get beyond the silly things that seem big at the time.<\/p>\n<p>While a defining moment may not be failing to install a toliet seat, it may be the realization that that failure isn&#8217;t a defining moment.<\/p>\n<p>God doesn&#8217;t make junk!<\/p>\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n<p>Take a minute to look back at a recent setback. Did you let that define you or did you use it as a learning opportunity? Think about that and how next time you could use that as a learning moment rather than a negative setback.<\/p>\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n<p>Lord, it&#8217;s easy for us to get frustrated when we make mistakes or don&#8217;t do something as good as we wanted to. We also know that you give us defining moments that solidify our relationship with you.
