Tonight the girls were st each other&#8217;s throats. St some point, my youngest was so upset she told her sister &#8220;I don&#8217;t love you in my heart&#8221;. That had the eldest upset and wanting her to move out of her room. (They are sharing a room right now becuase they want to). After a while the youngest apologized and the eldest kinda forgave her. Then the youngest started crying because as she said &#8220;I feel bad for everything I did tonight to Sissy&#8221;. Then her sister wouldn&#8217;t talk to her, wouldn&#8217;t give her a hug, nothing. So yes, drama in full swing.<\/p>\n<p>We often take out our frustration and anger on those we love the most. While we should be quick to forgive and slow to anger, that doesn&#8217;t always work in that order.<\/p>\n<p>To err is human, to forgive is divine.<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/pro.19.11\" class=\"verseLink\">Proverbs 19:11<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jas.1.19-20\" class=\"verseLink\">James 1:19-20<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.4.4\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 4:4<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>We see that sensible people control their temper, well last time I checked, most of us aren&#8217;t sensible all the time. We get upset, we lash out, and we sin. While we should be quick to listen and slow to anger, it doesn&#8217;t happen that way all the time.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty is that when we mess up, which we all do, even if we aren&#8217;t forgiven on Earth, we are forgiven by Christ. He washes away our sin, anger, and every tear from our eyes. (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rev.21.4\" class=\"verseLink\">Revelation 21:4<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>I know my children love each other. It&#8217;s painful to see them fighting through this phase. I know my brother and I did it. It&#8217;s like a right of passage. My hope is that by reminding them of the forgiveness of Christ and his love, they will forgive a little more quickly and be a little slower to anger.<\/p>\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n<p>Are you quick to anger? Maybe you are taking our your frustrations in your loved ones as you know they will forgive you. Next time you are upset, take a minute to breathe. Think about the words that you say. While you may be forgiven, and while Jesus wipes away all trace of your sin, earthly wounds leave a mark<\/p>\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n<p>Gracious, God. Help my daughter&#8217;s as they are learning what it means to fight, to hold anger, and ultimately forgive. Help each of us to know that our words are weapons and while we may forgive they leave wounds. Grant all of us your knowledge and healing. Knowledge not to heart others and healing to cure the wounds we have caused.
