The last bagel in the bag, had one half broken and the other half whole. So three pieces. She snubbed her noise at it. I told her it would taste the same. I toasted it. As I looked away, she was trying to toast it again to burn it so she would take have to eat it. She denied it if course. I then put cream cheese on it and made it whole. She was still complaining about it being broken. I put it in a bag and sent her to school. When she got home, I asked her if she ate it and she said yes. I then asked if it tasted the same, and she gave me a smirk.<\/p>\n<p>How many times in life, do we look at something that is less than ideal and refuse it or try to burn it down? Unless we are Jesus, nothing we do is perfect nor is anyone or anything we interact with perfect.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s up to us, with the help of God, to look at that broken bagel, and see 3 yummy pieces of bagel, instead of something we should throw away.<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0); font-family:\" helveticaneueverdanahelveticaarialsans-serif=\"helveticaneueverdanahelveticaarialsans-serif\" _16px=\"font-size:_16px\" normal=\"white-space:normal\" _400=\"font-weight:_400\" _2text-indent0px=\"orphans:_2text-indent0px\" none=\"float:none\" _2=\"widows:_2\" _0px=\"_-webkit-text-stroke-width:_0px\" initial=\"text-decoration-color:initial\" inlineimportant=\"display:inlineimportant\" left=\"text-align:left\">Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable\u2014if anything is excellent or praiseworthy\u2014think about such things.<\/span> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/php.4.8\" class=\"verseLink\">Philippians 4:8<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cSo we can confidently say, \u201cThe Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/heb.13.5\" class=\"verseLink\">Hebrews 13:5<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>We are blessed. God is in our side and will be with us. If we believe God&#8217;s word is true, then why do we look at his gifts in vein. Why do we see the broken bagels and want to through them away or burn them rather than enjoy them?<\/p>\n<p>Call is Satan, Sin, Keeping Up With The Jones&#8217;, or whatever. It&#8217;s us not looking at the gifts as truly gifts. All things he gives us are praiseworthy. We just need to look more closely.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not saying that we shouldn&#8217;t throw things away sometimes or if we burn our dinner that ordering pizza isn&#8217;t a bad thing. Rather, we should try to look at the big picture and see if we can fix or reuse it.<\/p>\n<p>On that note, the Japanese have an art for called <span style=\"color:rgb(60,64,67); font-family:Roboto,HelveticaNeue,Arial,sans-serif; font-size:18px; font-style:normal; font-variant-ligatures:normal; font-variant-caps:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; orphans:2text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; white-space:normal; widows:2; word-spacing:0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width:0px; background-color:rgb(255,255,255); text-decoration-style:initial; text-decoration-color:initial; display:inline!important; float:none; text-align:left;\">Kintsugi<\/span>, which is the art of fixing things with Gold. It&#8217;s making something whole again and even more beautiful than it was before. We are like that. Imperfect. Broken. Missing pieces. Then Jesus comes alone with his golden touch and fixes us.<\/p>\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n<p>What do you do when you have the broken bagel scenario? Do you toss it? Do you burn it? Maybe, you eat it. Try looking at the obstacle as Kintsugi and using that gold, or cream cheese, to fix it.<\/p>\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n<p>Lord on High, thank you for all the wonderful things you give us. We are blessed beyond words. Give us the strength to look at broken things as you look at us. Give us the tools to fix them and use them according to your plan as Christ looks at us and fixes us.
