Church buildings can be a welcoming place for those who are members. At the same time, for non-members, it can be a a scary,.unknown, and confusing place. The church has its own language, processes, policies, and operating procedures. We spend a lot of time and money building and running these operations to help God’s People who already know Jesus and come regularly.<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While every part of the body needs food, we also need to focus on the part of the body that is starving those who don’t know Jesus, those who aren’t Churched, those who are questioning and looking for a home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple of days ago, I asked a friend if he had thought anymore about going to worship. He said he couldn’t join a church that was blatantly against homosexuals. He said that wasn’t being Godly <\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told him, he was right. All sins in our faith are equal and we all have them. From adultery to gluttony, to murder and stealing and a whole other lost of sins. We are all broken sinners. When a church foceses on excluding one type of sin, it has lost focus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need to spend much if not more of our time, talent, and treasure, spreading the Truth of Christ and welcoming all sinners <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scripture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus came to them and said,\u00a0\u201cAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.\u00a0Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,\u00a0baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,\u00a0and teaching\u00a0them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you\u00a0always, to the very end of the age.\u201d – Matthew 28:16<\/a> – 20<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflection<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The scripture above is called the Great Commission. This is Jesus telling his disciples to make disciples of everyone in the world. Not just the perfect, not one race, gender, or greed, but all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what we are told to do. Bring everyone into God’s family. We do that through our official outreach programs but even more effective is the everyday nonjudgmental conversations we have with everyone. We share the love that Jesus has shared with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are some things my church believes that I don’t. But I’m far from perfect. I have a lot to learn and so don’t change the church, the church changes me. My only job is to love people, love God and share his word. It’s through these debates when the real growth happens by the power of the holy spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So yes, we Churched people love our church and our faith. We want to keep that healthy while doing everything we can to reach out to those.not in the fold and introduce them to their Heavenly Father <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

How do you share God’s word? Do you focus on the love of people or a specific sin? Try to forget about what sins a person has committed and share with them the love of God. As they say, you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Heavenly Father, help us to give unselfishly of our time, talent, and energy to those both inside and outside the church. Through the Holy Spirit, give us the words to share your love with those who are skeptical about man’s interpretation of your word and operation of your house. Provide us with the knowledge that all are always welcome in your house. Amen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
