I like being responsible for my own choices, actions, and follow-through. My frustration and anxiety grow when I&#8217;m not in control. This surgery experience, unlike my others, is begining to help me just let go. If I don&#8217;t go to bed at the exact minute, it&#8217;s ok. If my water isn&#8217;t filled or the kids aren&#8217;t going to bed, it&#8217;s ok. Sure, there are things I want to do and thing I need to do but havening an iron grip doesn&#8217;t stop things from slipping through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I need to have faith in God&#8217;s plan, my place in it, and the understanding, that most of these little things are just little things and don&#8217;t distract from the end goal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Scripture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;that will stand.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/pro.19.21\" class=\"verseLink\">Proverbs 19:21<\/a><\/li><li>Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.- <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.115.3\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 115:3<\/a><\/li><li>For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.  &#8211; Timothy 2:7<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4>Reflection<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We all have hopes. Desires, and dreams. Most of us try to align them with what God has planned for us. It&#8217;s the little annoyances that seem to get us off track. Those times when we aren&#8217;t in control. What I&#8217;m beginning to believe is that if we trust in theord and follow his ways, then we will be in control through him. It may not turn out the way we wanted but may turn out the way we need it too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, my youngest kept coming out of bed. In the past, I would tell at her and threaten to take thing away if she didn&#8217;t go to bed. But you know what, that usually didn&#8217;t work. Tonight, I&#8217;m sending her back to bed and just ignoring her. It&#8217;s not what I want and it&#8217;s interuppting my plain but she&#8217;s not mad, I&#8217;m not mad, and I&#8217;m learning. The key when things don&#8217;t go out way or according to our plan, is to see what we can learn from the situation. In that way, we take back control through our learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Charge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you like to be in control? Do you like to call the shots? What happens when you aren&#8217;t in control? Try to voluntarily give up control. You can still be active but let someone else be &#8220;in charge&#8221;. You will be surprised by how much you learn about yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Prayer<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Lord, let me use this surgical recovery time as a time when I am not in control<div>Let me turn to you and the people you have provided to help me.  Give all of us strength to learn how not to be in control. Let us always follow your son&#8217;s example when he wasn&#8217;t in control during those final days.
