At the same time, it is hard to ask for the help. I am a person who wants to help everyone do everything all the time. My upcoming knee surgery scares me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not because of the procedure mind you, as I have faith in the Lord and the doctor&#8217;s, nurses, and staff will be supported by him and their experience. No, my biggest fear is the recovery. Not because the surgery will go wrong. Nor because I know that things will get done. Rather, because I will be unable to do most things I normally do. Non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. Physically therapy for up to 18 weeks. This is what scares me. I know this is one of those times, I just need to say, Will You Please Help Me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li> Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.14.13-14\" class=\"verseLink\">John 14:13-14<\/a><\/li><li> \u201cAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.7.7\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 7:7<\/a><\/li><li> And now I will break his yoke from off you and will burst your bonds apart.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/nam.1.13\" class=\"verseLink\">Nahum 1:13<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>All three of our verses tell us that all we have to do is ask and we will get it. Help is there. The problem is following through with it. It&#8217;s awesome to know that our friends are there to help, but what help is it if we don&#8217;t ask them for it? It&#8217;s great to know God will answer our prayers, but if we don&#8217;t ask and don&#8217;t listen, then what good is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a challenge. Our society looks to people who are rocks, who are strong, who can do anything. What we should look for is those who are open at asking for, receiving, and giving help. Our faith tells us that God will always answer. It might not be in the way we wanted, but he will answer. He will put people in our lives for want to help us. We just have to take that action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This may be one of the hardest charges. Ask for help. It&#8217;s simple but hard. Tell someone &#8220;Yes, I need help. Can you do x,y,z for me please<g class=\"gr_ gr_28 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation multiReplace\" id=\"28\" data-gr-id=\"28\">&#8220;.<\/g> They will do it out of love for you without expecting something in return. A thank you is usually good enough. There will be a time when they need you. Remember the old song &#8220;Lean on Me&#8221;.   <br>Lean on me, when you&#8217;re not strong<br>And I&#8217;ll be your friend<br>I&#8217;ll help you carry on<br>For it won&#8217;t be long<br>&#8216;Til I&#8217;m gonna need<br>Somebody to lean on <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavenly Father, grant me the peace and strength that comes with knowing everything is in your hands. Let me ask for the help you promise and accept it. Help all of us to understand that being strong doesn&#8217;t mean not asking for help. The greatest leader and greatest of strength are those who can ask for and take help. Remind us that we are all in this together and &#8220;it won&#8217;t be long, &#8216;Til I&#8217;m gonna need Somebody to lean on&#8221;.
