I feel that way when I scroll through social media, watch the news, and listen to some conversations. I can&#8217;t fathom how rational, educated people, can say and do things that are so dumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all honesty, I am a rational educated person who can say and do stupid things to. And yes, I know my mom will yell at me for saying that someone or something is stupid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I try to see what is beneath what people say. If someone is for a policy that seems asinine to me, I can&#8217;t assume they are dumb or ignorant. There is some fraction of truth in that belief and they are wrapped into it. Then, they become so wrapped into it, that changing their mind is a personal defeat, rather than listening to logic, evidence, and experience.  Guess what? I am not immune from this. When I saw people, I mean all of us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to do better about seeing why someone is saying what they say, rather than focus on what they said and thinking about how stupid that person is. That is not Godly or Christianly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li> \u201cSo we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/2co.4.18\" class=\"verseLink\">2 Corinthians 4:18<\/a><\/li><li> Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.119.18\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 119:18<\/a><\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Some #faithbites are harder to write than others. This one is hard because I&#8217;m as guilty as the next person. When I see someone post someone on social media that is just wrong, I feel the need to correct them. I try to give valid points but occasionally I slip. Tonight, after some debate, I told someone to go back to watching Fox news. That isn&#8217;t being very Godly as that is assuming what they watch and stereotyping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it is hard. The drive to be right, to prove that my point of view is better than yours. In an era when facts aren&#8217;t facts. When scientists are seen to part of a big coverup , when media is part of the deep state, when nothing seems to be &#8220;true&#8221;, knowing what to believe is hard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I know I&#8217;m far from right and I hope that my eye and the eyes of everyone are turned away from the screens and the bickering towards the heavens and light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a tough one. Turn off the 24 hours news media. Don&#8217;t respond to news story for at least 24 hours. Investigate a meme or story before you pass it on. Don&#8217;t place judgement without knowing the facts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavenly Lord, help us in our divided times. Give us your passion to not try to be right at someone else&#8217;s expense. Help us to find win-win scenarios. Let your love encompass our interactions and thoughts of our friends, neighbors, and countrymen.
