A new season of cold, snow, Christmas, New Year, and a time to reflect on what is came and what is next. For me though,  I also look at it as the longest night of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been a summer child.  I love the heat, the warmth, swimming, being outside, and everything has to do with light and warmth. The fall and winter are usually a bad time for me. This time of year when you wake up in the dark, go to work in the dark, and come home in the dark, can bring me down. I look forward to this day as I know the light is coming. A new season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That in a nutshell is what being a Christian means. We have the hope that the light of the world, Jesus, will return soon. In the meantime we can enjoy the beautiful things that this season has: worship, fellowship,and good deeds. These are gifts from him that we can cherish as we await for the light to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li> The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/isa.60.19\" class=\"verseLink\">Isaiah 60:19<\/a><\/li><li> The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.1.5\" class=\"verseLink\">John 1:5<\/a><\/li><li>for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord;  -walk as children of Light &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/eph.4.8\" class=\"verseLink\">Ephesians 4:8<\/a><\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The light of the world. No longer living in darkness but now walk in the light of the Lord. The idea of all of this darkness in our lives being washed away from the light is a concept that helps us be strong in our faith and live our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, we are sitting in front of a fire. Before the fire there was a little light, then great light and warmth. We used the light to cook hot-dogs and soon s&#8217;mores, then will watch as fire slowly dies out and we sleep. That brief glimpse into what the world will be like in the next world or when Christ returns, strengthens us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we enter winter and await for the birth and return of Christ, enjoy the gifts of this season. Even though it is dark and cold, there are a great many things to celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The light is coming. Today may seem like a dark day, but glimses of the light can be seen all around you. Be that light for someone as they find faith during this time. Remember that this is just a glimpse of the heavenly light that is yet to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord, help me to be strong in my help. Help me to remember that I am surrounded by your light even in the darkest night.
