Today’s lesson in about Quests or missions.<\/p>\n

I have always loved adventure, magic, mystery, video games, role-playing, and more. I could never understand why I loved them so much, until today. I was watching an episode of “The Magicians” on SyFy and they were talking about being who you are and who you want to be. The discussion turned to quests, and about who goes on the quest.\u00a0The person who starts a quest isn’t the person who can finish the quest. The quest changes them. You may have to run a\u00a0gauntlet to get the keys at the end of a quest but the act of running the gauntlet makes you able to get the keys.<\/p>\n

That hit home. I love to get to the end of a game or mystery, but I love the experience even more. Getting more treasures, weapons, crafting something new, learning some piece of information, and achieving something new. It’s not the end but getting there. Going through the hard parts of the quest. Making tough choices throughout the game to get to the end. Then to share how I am progressing throughout the mission, quest, or game.<\/p>\n

Life is like that. We all know we will die at some point, but the quest of life is the fun part. We share with each other. We learn new things. We get challenged. We stumble, loss our loot, find out our spell doesn’t work against this boss, or we are out of arrows in our quiver. But then we find a new way to move to the next level.<\/p>\n

Level 1 vs Level 40<\/p>\n

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,<\/span>\u00a0because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.<\/span>\u00a0L<\/span>et perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature\u00a0and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

“Put on the full armor of God,\u00a0so that you can take your stand against the devil\u2019s schemes.” – Ephesians 6:11<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

We continue to find detours, roadblocks, creatures in our path, obstacles and more. We are being tested constantly, but we are on a journey or as I call it #faithjourney.\u00a0 In any good story, game, or adventure our hero starts with no armor, maybe no weapons, and very little skills to complete the quest. But as they go on, they get stronger. We have Jesus from Day 1. We have the full armor of God to battle whatever demons or obstacles come our way. We must put it on to give us the strength and endurance to change throughout our quest and be victorious.<\/p>\n

Are you willing to put on the Armor of God? Are you willing to change and grow in your faith journey? Are you able to realize that you can’t complete the quest without help and without Jesus?<\/p>\n
