Today’s lesson in one on impact. How those little moments can\u00a0change someone’s day, outlook, and ultimately their life. I wrote yesterday about my experience as a tall, strong, able-bodied\u00a0man becoming very physically disabled for a short period. That changed my outlook. I have had people give me lessons like “Be yourself. If people don’t like you when you’re yourself, F**K ‘Em”. I’ve had someone give me a hug and change my day. A simple smile. Today I was shopping at Aldi, and a woman probably in her 50’s was walking with her grandmother. He grandmother looked ill, she had a mask on and looked to be struggling. He granddaughter kept saying “Grandma, get whatever you want. I got it. Don’t worry”. But her grandmother kept questioning her. I walked over with a smile and said: “You know the number one rule in life is never pass up a free meal, right?” She chuckled and then I said, “Look at your granddaughter and say ‘Thank you. I Love You”. She looked at her, smiled and said: “Thank you, I love you”. They hugged and went shopping. That made me warm inside. I hope it helped them a little. I don’t know if that random act of kindness helps, but everything we do can have an impact on those around us. While one person may not be able to change the world, their ripple in the stream of kindness, may.<\/p>\n

\n

“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit\u00a0should restore\u00a0that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” – Galatians 6:1<\/a><\/p>\n

“In the same way, let your light shine before others,\u00a0that they may see your good deeds\u00a0and glorify\u00a0your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

We as Christians, as people, as citizens of the United States have both the opportunity and in my humble opinion, the obligation to try to help as many as we can. We don’t have to be a politician, a leader, a preacher, or anything but ourselves. Smile to a stranger. Give a compliment to someone. Speak true. As we want to restore someone, make sure we do it gently, and we watch ourselves. Let your light shine.<\/p>\n

Are you willing to try to smile a little more? Be a little warmer to people? Try to positively impact others on a daily basis?<\/p>\n

I know I am.<\/p>\n
