Today’s lesson is about resentment and grudges.<\/p>\n

I don’t know about you, but I get mad occasionally. Ok, more than I want. I am open and honest as always, but I do get made. Usually, it’s over stupid stuff. Someone not doing something that I thought they\u00a0would do. Me being mad at myself for not making good choices. Agonizing over a decision and turning it into anger when I don’t have control over it.\u00a0 The other day, I sent a wrong email or made a typo, or did something and I\u00a0kept saying “Stupid Sol”. I was mad at myself. Then my colleague said “Be Kind to Yourself”. That made the difference. I am not always kind to myself or others. I hold resentment and sometimes that can turn into grudges. The worst part is when someone does something that is very very small, I can react very angrily because I have resentment and grudges from all of the little things over time. It is not healthy for me, nor does it help our relationships.<\/p>\n

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.\u201d – Mark 11:25<\/a><\/p>\n

“Get rid of\u00a0all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” – Ephesians 4:31<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Knowing that you have that bitterness, that anger, that malice is easy. Forgiving and getting rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, is very difficult. I am no expert in it. I try to talk about it with the person but it doesn’t always work. Sometimes leading to more anger. Talking does help. Then praying helps. I need to get better at praying, giving it to God, and realizing that the anger and bitterness doesn’t help. I need to turn those feelings into action and allow the Holy Spirit to work through me.<\/p>\n

Are you ready to ‘get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice?<\/p>\n
