Today’s lesson is about witnessing the Lord.<\/p>\n

Our Pastor’s have talked about this in depth. I have never thought of myself as a witness. I thought you had to be a pastor, priest, or preacher. I thought that you had to\u00a0be fluent in scripture, being able to rattle off a lesson or specific verse at a moments notice. I thought there was no way, I could ever help someone\u00a0find Jesus. How could I help someone find Jesus if I was still learning about him?<\/p>\n

When I was thinking of being baptized, I asked one of our pastors about it. He said on the scale of not believing in anything to believing in everything (and those people are weird), as long as you are on the continuum, you are ok.<\/p>\n

Today, I had lunch with an old friend. Our entire lunch was talking about both of our respective faith journies. How we found the Lord. What strange path it was. Was doors, God opens for us. How our lives are better. We talked about our struggles with unbelief. With is it all made up. All of that. It really helped me in my journey.<\/p>\n

Then it dawned on me: Telling your story is being a witness.<\/p>\n

\n

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;\u00a0and you will be my witnesses\u00a0in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,\u00a0and to the ends of the earth.\u201d Acts 1:8<\/a><\/p>\n

“And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit\u2019s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God\u2019s power.” – 1 Corinthians 2<\/p>\n

\n

If Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians, says that his message and preaching were not wise or with persuasive words. If one of the men who met Jesus and preached with him was not wise and persuasive, how can I be? The answer is in the Holy Spirit. You become wise through the Holy Spirit. He works wonders when you share your stories, honestly. When you ask questions and join in fellowship with others. Don’t be afraid to share your faith. The world may not like it, but you would be surprised how many doors open when you are a witness.<\/p>\n

Are you ready to talk openly about your faith? Are you ready to share what God has done in your life?<\/p>\n
