These sayings and many more make up Churchenese.\u00a0 Our common language that shares our faith, Hope&#8217;s, dreams and goals. Do you only speak this on Sunday or at worship or do you speak it in public?<\/p>\n<p>Today during worship our pastor introduced us to Churchenese. The language we use to live in the Word during worship. This can be scriptures, paraphrases of scripture, or just that warmth of Christ. It warms to soul and helps you to be part of a community.<\/p>\n<p>The question is when you leave the comfort zone of Worship, do you still speak in Churchenese\u00a0 or do you leave it at the door?<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind, speaking in Churchenese can be the specific words but also our intent of sharing the love of Christ.<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"text Rom-12-1\">Therefore, I urge you,\u00a0brothers and sisters, in view of God\u2019s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,\u00a0holy and pleasing to God\u2014this is your true and proper worship.<\/span><span id=\"en-NIV-28248\" class=\"text Rom-12-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0<\/sup>Do not conformto the pattern of this world,\u00a0but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.\u00a0Then you will be able to test and approve what God\u2019s will is\u2014his good, pleasing\u00a0and perfect will. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.12.1-2\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 12:1-2<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"text Rom-12-9\">Love must be sincere.\u00a0Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-28256\" class=\"text Rom-12-10\">Be devoted to one another in love.\u00a0Honor one another above yourselves. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.12.9-10\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 12:9-10<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>All that we have is from God and for God&#8217;s use. If we truly believe in his Word and his gifts, why wouldn&#8217;t we share that.<\/p>\n<p>Many years ago when I graduated high school, I\u00a0 was in a drive through for Arby&#8217;s with my mother. The guy gave us our food and I said &#8220;Thank you so much. Have a great day&#8221;. My mother, who was from California , asked me if I knew that guy. I\u00a0 told her I didn&#8217;t and she said I should be careful who talk to.<\/p>\n<p>To me, that&#8217;s a prime example\u00a0 of speaking Churchenese.\u00a0 I was warm and open to him, long before I knew the love of Christ. We don&#8217;t need to use the same exact words in public as we do in worship but through our intentions, emotions, and love of Christ, our words will come across. Think of it as a universal translator for Churchenese to common language.<\/p>\n<p>As our verses show, we are to love honesty and give our bodies in service. How better than to speak the word in a way that others can understand in everything we do?<\/p>\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n<p>Do you share your faith in public? How do you share your relationship with Christ and all the gifts he gives you to others? Take time to find one person who doesn&#8217;t speak Churchenese to talk with. Use common words and the Holy Spirit will translate.<\/p>\n<p>Lord, all me to be your vessel. Give me strength to speak your truth outside the comfort of Worship and your physical church.
