Today’s lesson is how you refer to your higher power. I wanted to say God Vs Jesus, but that doesn’t do it justice. I also wanted to give a warning that this post may make some people uncomfortable. As you know, I was raised Jewish as was baptized\u00a0almost two years ago. I have always believed in God and Jesus was a teacher. I have now accepted Jesus as my personal savior. Yesterday, I was having a conversation with someone at church and said I don’t care if someone goes to my church but I want everyone to have a relationship with God. She responded that everyone needs Jesus. For me, I was saying the same thing. If God created everything, he surely could make himself flesh and die for our sins. I use “The Lord” or “God” all of the time. I don’t usually use Jesus but it doesn’t bother me to use it. In the Lutheran system, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are part of the Trinity\u00a0(other denominations as well). They are all God and they have different responsibilities\u00a0(God creates, Jesus saves, the holy spirit builds faith). This article shows 50 different names of Jesus<\/a><\/p>\n

The difference in word choice for me isn’t different. But I know others are bothered by it. It could be just my infancy in my Christianity. I always say words have power and meaning. This is something I struggle with.<\/p>\n

“Moses said to God, \u201cSuppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, \u2018The God of your fathers has sent me to you,\u2019 and they ask me, \u2018What is his name?\u2019 Then what shall I tell them?\u201d<\/em>

\n God also said to Moses, \u201cSay to the Israelites, \u2018The Lord,[b] the God of your fathers\u2014the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob\u2014has sent me to you.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

\n the name you shall call me<\/em>

\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>but we rise up\u00a0and stand firm.” – Psalm 20:7-8<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” – Matthew 28:18<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Today I gave you four scriptures. Yay. The word is true and has always been there. I will continue to use God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Lord, Savior, and more. Words fail to describe God as words are made of Man. You can’t describe\u00a0something that is beyond your comprehension.\u00a0 What do you call God? Who do you pray to?<\/p>\n

Have faith in the Lord. He will direct you.<\/p>\n
