Dec 29 – I Can’t Do It For You
3:364 – I can’t Do It For You

#faithbites #faithjourney can’t

Setting

For almost three years, I have been sharing scripture daily with you. Along with the scripture have been my #faithjourney, my reflections, my challenges, and my prayers. Some of you have said this is meaningful, others have commented that you like it, and still, others have wanted me to continue doing this as you get something out of my journey. The more I do this, the more the old saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink” rings true.

I can’t make you find faith or build a relationship for you. I can be a help but can’t do it for you. Everyone one of you, needs to make your #faithjourney personal and work on it daily. I’m here to help and it is your responsibility. The funny things is, a #faithjourney can be challenging and it can be fun. My life is totally changed since I started on this road.

In the coming days, I’ll announce what I want to do with #faithbutes but I will need your help to do it. Until then, how are you going to grow your faith?

Scripture
  • 2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
  • 1 Peter 2:2 – Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—
  • Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Reflection

Faith is created, in our belief, through the Holy Spirit. We have to nurture it, long for it, and work to grow it. It’s not something that is there and will fulfil you without your participation. That doesn’t mean God has abandoned you or anything, just that you won’t fully feel his love, if you don’t act on your faith.

So what does this all mean? How can we grow our faith? It starts with simple practices from reading the Bible, living a Christ focus life, and doing all of this even when it is hard. Jesus told us following him would be challenging and we would be persecuted, but rewarded.

So are we approach the end of the year, how will you work on your #faithjourney?

Challenge

If I asked you, what your faith means to you, what would you say? How would you describe your faith in action? If you can’t answer these questions, maybe it’s time to take a deeper look at it.

Prayer

Lord God, we are blessed with your love and favor. Be with us as we walk in faith with you. Help us to grow as we go down the road of our #fiathjourney. Let us be active participants in making a life that is in your image and following your ways. We know we can’t do it alone, but we also know if we don’t take an active part, it will never happen. Lord, we pray for your support and help. In your name, Amen.
