June 6 – Will Something Just Work Right?
3:158 – Will Something Just Work Right?

#faithbites #faithjourney right

Setting

Ever have those days when nothing works right? The dog isn’t sleeping. Your computer crashed. The kitchen drawer breaks. The garbage rips. You have a leaky tire. The kids are being well…kids. It’s days like this when it’s hard to always look in the bright side of life.

Faith is just that, faith. We believe that God has a plan for us. We aren’t perfect and will have things go wrong. But it will work out in the end. For the end, is our reward. Reunion with God.

I once described my life trip as driving from Bloomington, IL to Chicago, IL by way of London, Cape Town, Sydney, Tokyo, and LA. We go through much pain and much joy. We just have to have faith that it will work out.

Scripture
  • Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
  • Romans 8:18 – For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Reflection

As I try to write this, I have a a screaming, tired child. Again, something not going right. She isn’t getting her way, and the world is terrible.

Our scriptures show us that our sufferings, actually all of this, is temporary. We have a faith in a God we can’t see, in a Messiah we never met, and in a heaven that we can’t prove. When things are falling apart, from #firstworldproblems, to make issues in our lives, all we have is faith.

Remember, that no matter how rough things are, Jesus loves you. No matter how many things seem to be falling apart, your faith and eternal salvation is secured. You are loved.

Challenge

Breathe. Know that all of our suffering will pale in comparison to the wonders of everlasting life. Have faith that these things are temporary and His love will help you through.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, please help us. So many things seem to be broken. From minor daily things to major world events. So much is out of our control. Remind us of your love, your promises, and love. Help us through the bumps of life, so we can be fully restored to share your love. In your name, Amen.
