Be Sure in Christ
May 27 – Only One Answer I Am Sure Of
3:148 – Only One Answer I Am Sure Of

#faithbites #faithjourney Sure

“Dad, when are we going to fix the fence?” “Daddy, when is my toy coming in?” “Honey, what is for dinner tonight?” “Sol, when will you be done with your dissertation?” “When are you going back to work in the office?” The answer for all of these questions and many more is, “I don’t know”. Well, I do know dinner, I cooked hot dogs, and served with cottage cheese, watermelon, and pasta salad. But for the rest, I don’t know. I feel that I’m asked hundreds of questions everyday. Some are factual questions and others are decisions. Most, I just don’t know. I make some of it up as I go, others, I try to research, and some, I pull out the old “Ask your mother”.

Life is filled with questions and not a lot of answers. I am sure of one thing: Jesus died for my sins, because God the Father loves me and gave his only Son for me. In this world, even holding to that as truth is an act of faith. In the time of craziness, faith is all we have to hold onto.

Scripture
  • Acts – 16:31 – And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
  • John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
  • Romans 10:9 – Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Reflection

Not a lot to add tonight, as God’s word is true (2 Timothy 3:16) and self-explanatory. Just know that if you believe in Christ, you will be saved. He is the way to the Father and life everlasting. God never changes.

I know tonight I will probably be asked at least another 50 questions, 48 of it I just want to say I don’t know and the other 2 (well maybe more) answer with “Because I said so”; I know that I don’t question the sacrifice of Jesus and his love for me.

Challenge

Cast your worries on Jesus. You don’t have to know everything. All you need to know is he loves you and died for you. That’s it. The rest, God will take care of.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for your Son. Thank you for not making us know all the answers. We question so many things but know thanks to your Word, that your love is never ending and through your Son we are saved. Give us peace of mind, that we don’t have to solve the world’s problems tonight. Remind us to just Let It Go and give it you. We love you and give you all the honor and glory. In your name, Amen.
