Feb 24 – Make It Count
3:55 – Make It Count

#faithbites #faithjourney count

You never know how many days you have left. This may be the last time you change a diaper. Your child may no longer ask you to cuddle. Your parents may no longer be at home when you get there. The common saying is you only live once. The truth is you only die once, you live everyday.

Work can wait. Those tasks you have to do aren’t really that important. The people in your life are.

For me, this came true as my youngest said I wasn’t spending as much time with her as I did my eldest. She was right. Lots of reasons why, but she was right. The other stuff isn’t as important. It’s time to make every action count.

Scripture
  • So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of your time because the times are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. – Ephesians 5:15-17
  • Behave wisely toward outsiders, making the best use of your time. – Colossians 4:5
Reflection

As I tell my daughters everyday, “Make Good Choices”. We have a limited time on this our. Our work and our tasks shouldn’t define us. Our love for our spouses, our children, our family, and friends should define us.

Jesus wants us to be wise and make good choices. Not only in how we act with those we love, but also with outsiders. We can chose to busy ourselves with daily tasks or make time to love those around us. I found out u spent 4 hours and 150 unlocks on my phone in one day. Crazy. Make the time.

This is not easy. It takes time, work, and correction. Be open to feedback even from the youngest amongst us.

Challenge

As we approach lent, find one thing that you can give up to use your time more wisely. Find a buddy to help you make this change.

Prayer

Lord, help us in our time management. Give us direction on what is truly important. Help us get over ourselves when we think our tasks are more important than our relationship’s. We need your help in this. You want us to make Good Choices. We thank you for your love and for helping us always. In your name, Amen.
