Nov 10 – It’s Never Too Early To Celebrate
2:314 – It’s Never Too Early To Celebrate

#faithbites #faithjourney celebrate

This #faithbite inspired by my lovely wife.

For the past two weeks the kids (and wife) have been pressuring me to put up the Christmas decorations. I’m normally a day after Thanksgiving kinda guy, but when the three women in your life are pushing you, who are you to say no? Heck, even science says those who decorate earlier are happier. (https://www.businessinsider.com/putting-christmas-decorations-up-early-makes-you-happier-2017-11).

So today, we did it. It’s up and beautiful. Who cares that the Turkey hasn’t had his day yet? Christmas celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior, ahy not celebrate year round.

Celebrating is a gift from God. Enjoy the little victories and milestones.

Scripture
  • Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. – 1 Corinthians 5:8
  • This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalm 118:24
Reflection

We have a new day every morning. It is a gift from God. We chose what we so with it. So maybe you are putting your tree up in October or taking it down in February. Who cares!

Let us rejoice and celebrate in all of his gifts and wonders. We can choose to rain on someone’s parades but why? Let’s take the joy in little things.

Challenge

Are you a scrooge? Maybe you rain on other’s parades. Find something you like and celebrate. Doesn’t matter what it is as long as it gives glory to God.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for simple celebrations. You allow us to experience joy, peace, and fun. These little wins and celebrations give us a tiny taste of what it will be like when we are in your Glory for all eternity. We give you the glory and honor. In your name, Amen.
