I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody all about somebody who saved my soul
Nov 4 – I’m Just A Nobody
2:308 – I’m Just A Nobody

#faithbites #faithjourney Nobody

The purpose of #faithbites can’t be summed up in one lyric: “I’m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, all about somebody who saved my soul.” This is the main part of the course for Nobody by Casting Crowns featuring (Matthew West).

Nothing about my background makes me special or standout. Why Jesus “chose me, remains a mystery”. This is from a guy who “picked 12 outsiders nobody would’ve chosen and changed the world.”

“The moral of the story is everybody’s got a purpose. So when I hear that devil start talking to me, saying “Who do you think you are?”.

I say I’m just a nobody.

Throughout the Bible, God works through nobodies . I’m know I’m not a nobody as I’m chosen by God.

You are chosen as well.

Scripture
  • Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth – 1 Corinthians 1:26
Reflection

Let’s look at the disciples: Peter, Andrew, James, and John were fishermen (Matthew 4:18-22), Matthew (Levi) was a tax collected (Matthew 9:9-13). Thomas and Nathanael (Batholomew) and two others (probably Andrew, Simon, James the Less or Thaddaeus, were also fishermen. We don’t know what the other disciples were, but we think that Judas was an accountant or bookkeeper (John 12:6). These are truly nobodies who Jesus literally picked off the side of the road. If they can change the world, so can you.

We are of noble blood in Christ. It doesn’t matter our earthly heritage. We have a choice to live up to that birth by telling everybody about who saved our souls.

I am blessed more than I ever thought I can be. There are things I still am not happy about, but I know I have been saved. I will spend my days telling everybody about somebody who saved my soul. Will you?

Challenge

Are you a nobody? Are you ready to tell everybody about Jesus? All it takes is telling your story to one person. It gets easier each time you tell it. You will be amazed at how much energy you have and how you want to continue to tell everybody about him.

Prayer

God, thank you for making us of royal blood. Though we feel like nobodies, we know you have chosen us for a reason. We are here to share the news of your son. Help us to remember that while the world may think we are nobodies, that is the farthest thing from the truth. Give us the strength to tell everybody about your son and how our lives have been changed. You are an amazing God. We love you and thank you. In your name, Amen.
