June 25 – Enthusiasm is Contagious
Enthusiasm is Contagious

#176of365 #FaithBites #FaithJourney Enthusiasm

My phone at work rang and I answered it as usual. Then a bright cheery future student said Hi Sol, How are you doing. He was asking a mundane question about needing a car for clinic rotations but was so excited in everything he said and did. My exhaustion faded away as his enthusiasm washed over me.

Here was a student, about to start medical school, arguably one of the hardest programs, and he was excited for his future. Nothing seemed to get him down even when having a car may be a challenge for a while.

This enthusiasm is catching it work. We are all exhausted, stressed out, and worried about what will happen when the students start next week. At the same time, our love of what we do, and seeing these students with wide open futures be so excited for tomorrow is intoxicating.

Scripture on Enthusiasm

“shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness;” 1 Peter 5:2

“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,” – Colossians 3:23

Reflection and Charge

We should work heartily as if we work for the Lord and not for men. We can never please men or please men all the time. As can please the Lord through our actions and our eagerness. Imagine if everyone approached work and life with a sense of joy, eagerness, and enthusiasm.

The mundane would be wonderful. Daily tasks would be exciting. Today while I was stressed, I was dancing and getting my groove on. It brightened others days.

I know we aren’t always going to be enthusiastic every day, but know your enthusiasm can be contagious.

Are you ready to approach life with a sense of eagerness? Will you let your enthusiasm flow?

I am ready to approach life with enthusiasm with the help of God.
