March 17 – Spending Time Together

Today’s lesson is about spending time together and general unity.

We have so many things in our lives that distract us. Today, after a long day, our family drvidrd to come together, eat dinner, and watch a movie. Nothing special. Nothing that costs a lot of money. Just the four of us sharing a meal and watching a movie. Simple, the way it should be.

So often, I fell I’m not giving eboughto my children. They want to play and I have things to do. I can’t always drop everything all the time, but the balance is what I seek.

The plans for family and friends spending time together is biblical. Not only that, it also helps us physically, spirtually, and emotionally. Why? Because that is how we are designed.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 15:5-6

“He will bless those who fear the Lord, both the small and the great. May the Lord give you increase, you and your children!” – Psalm 115:13-15

We should enjoy this time. We should glorify God. He will increase us and our children. We need to bring the word to our children. How do we do that? By our actions. Spending time with them. Simple things like playing paw patrol with the girls or watching them play video games. Closeness is key.

Are you willing to put down the phone and talk to your family? Are you will to put off what you think you have to do (work, chores, etc) and do what you really need to do: spend time with you family and friends?

I am willing (with the help of God)
