February 17 – Problem-Solving

Today’s lesson is about problem-solving. Engineering is the process of identifying a problem, then solving it.
In today’s society, especially through social media, we heard solutions to problems that haven’t been fully identified. We see commentary on solving the symptom and not the disease. We also see so much confusion on what is the disease and what is the symptom. I will get a tad political, in that I do not believe that the guns are the disease but a symptom of a society that doesn’t value life and doesn’t have strong connections to all their members.

“To answer before listening—
that is folly and shame” – Proverbs 18:13

“The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,
for the ears of the wise seek it out” – Proverbs 18:15

I do not have all the answers. I don’t even know all of the problems. What I do know and have faith in, is that we need to listen more, talk less. We need to seek out the wise, gather as much information as possible, then move towards action.

Are you ready to think behind your preconceived notions? Are you ready to listen to ideas that you may not agree with? Are you strong in your faith and person to admit when you are wrong?
