February 11 – An Army Around You

Today’s lesson is about fear and protection. I am often afraid. Am I being a good father? A good husband? A good worker? A good servant of the Lord? A good friend? Will I do what is needed to do to help my family? Will my ideas pay off? What am I do? Will people like me? These and many more fears cloud my mind. Then I realize, what if I had an army in front of me? Behind me? Always by my side? Guess what? You do!

Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked” – Psalm 84:10

“The Lord Almighty is with us; The God of Jacob is our fortress.” – Psalm 46:7

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to live the good life in the tents of the wicked. I don’t want to feel fear. The only fear I want to feel is the fear that is reverence to God. But, I do all the time. Even now as I type this I feel fear. I am not perfect. No one is except Jesus and God.

Think about what you fear. God will hear your call. He crushes the enemy underneath your feet. It is not easy. But when you know he goes before you and behind you. You will feel his presence.

Are you ready to allow God to protect you? To use the Angel Armies to surround you?

I am.

(And yes, it’s day 42. The answer to life, the universe, and everything. We know the question: Who is Christ Jesus?)
