January 8 – Worry

Today’s devotional is about worry. Dealing with anxiety is hard. It makes worry part of everyday. Worry is difficult. Turning things over to God is even harder because that gives us control and having control helps ease anxiety. But, as I’m learning, I was never in control. I can choose to recognize HE is in control and act accordingly. Of course, that is easier said than done.

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5 NIV

———-
“Worry limits possibility, because in order to move forward, everything has to fall into place or make perfect sense. So if you’re worried all the time, you won’t make a move unless it seems as thought the stars have all aligned in your favor. Worry is a stutter of faith. Faith is trust. People who worry won’t do the trust fall with God. A faith defined by worry is an immobile one.” YouVersion Curiosity of Faith
