Small Town Big Heart

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you’re all doing well. Yesterday was the first big fundraiser for Gillian’s Kidney Campaign. It was a free-will spaghetti dinner. We served over 300 people. We cooked 75lbs of spaghetti, 40 loaves of bread, and 90lbs of hamburger, not to mention the hundreds of deserts and salads that were donated. It was such a good time. We raised close to 10,000 in one day. I can’t believe that a community of about 600 people were able to raise that much money. Thanks so much to everyone for everything. If you want to see all the details and how we are doing on Gillian’s Campaign, take a look at her website.

Nicholas is here!!!!!

Hello all,

Mandy and I wanted to share the great news with all of you. Nicholas Solomon-Strutz was born at 7:59 on 2/12. He weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 11 ounces and 19 inches long. WOW. I can’t believe the craziness, Candice was in labor for almost 37 hours!

Mandy and I can’t wait to meet him. We will put pictures and video up as soon as we get it.

You can go to Candice and Jason’s website to learn all about the birthing craziness and everything. www.solomon-strutz.com

Halloween

It's The Great Pumpkin Katie Joe

Hi Everybody,

First of all..BOO! It’s that time of the year again. When a chill enters the air (well there is supposed to be a chill in the air but it’s 78 degrees. We don’t tell Al Gore), the leaves begin to change, and all sorts of scary things come across the planet. Well if you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about fall and Halloween. Last ngiht the extended family went to Scoville Zoo in Decatur for their annual Boo at the Zoo. Everyone dresses up in Halloween costumes, they have little stations that give out candy, and a scary train ride. We took Katie and Gilly and it was so much fun. Check out the pictures from the right here. The best station, as always is the last one, is one that hands out homemade caramel apples. Yum Yum….

So to all you little demons out there. Have a Happy Halloween.

Hi Everyone,

Many of you have said “Sol, you never update your website.” So, I have heard your calls and created a brand new website. No forums, no tricky business, just blogs and photos. This is a place for anyone to rant and rave on just about any subject they want to. From politics, to weather, to health, to the server at Denny’s forgetting to fill you drink even though you have already finished two glasses and are still very thirsty. I hope that you will all take an opportunity to look, post, and just reflect. And yes, I will go off on tangents on just about anything and everything.

So here’s to making the new website a little more used than before.
