Hi Everyone,

Mandy and I wanted to share great news with everyone. We’d like to announce that we soon will be parents. Yup, parents to a baby boy whose name is Nicholas Solomon Strutz. You may be wondering why his last name is not Roberts-Lieb, well silly you, it’s because the baby is going to be our new God Son. Ha! I got you all. By now you are probably mad at me because I made you think we were having our own baby. Like I’d post it in a blog for the first time, hehehehe. I know bad Sol.

Mandy and I couldn’t be happier and we were so surprised. Mandy and I were going to Decatur for Millikin’s Winter Gala and know that Candice and Jason were going to go as well. So we invited them to go out to dinner with us before hand. Not only did they honor us by asking us to be Nicholas God Parents, they also bought us steak dinner. As you all know, the number one rule in life is never pass up a free meal. So not only did my belly get filled (which makes for a happy Sol to start with), we get to be God parents. Woot!

So as we were leaving the restaurant, (Mandy and I in one car, Candice and Jason in the other car), Mandy and I started talking about some tickets to a show that they gave us, and we realized we left them at the resturant. We raced back and luckily the waitress grabbed them before the busboy threw them away. When I got back to the car I told Mandy that we wouldn’t do that to Baby Nicholas. (Ok so reading it in text isn’t as funny as it actually was, but then so what. This is my blog and I can say what I want)

After dinner I told Jason that with my God son Hunter, Mandy’s God daughter Gillian, and our new addition Nicholas, all we need is two more and we can field our own God Child basketball team! To quote the O.C “With Jesus and Moses on their side, how could they loose”.

So when I start to look bad at the past couple of months and rank things, I think we are in the plus.

Bad Health: -10 points
New Job: +5 points
5 years married: + (well I was going to put in a value, but if I put in anything other than infinity, I’d be in the dog house)
God Parents: +50 points

Grand Total = Goodness!!!!

So as you all approach the Thanksgiving holiday, take time to remember the little things, the big things, and everything in between.
